Nita Aviance and Will Automagic have been working together as the Carry Nation since 2012. In that time, they've set off dance floors in clubs, lofts and warehouses throughout the city — and the world. They've released music on stalwart labels like Nervous, Tribal and Classic Music Company, they're residents of Ladyfag's Battle Hymn and, during the cooler parts of the year, they present a monthly soiree at Good Room. All of which is to say, they know how to throw a party.
For this one, they've enlisted London's Gideon Berger, aka Gideön. Gideon is a longtime devotee of deep house, northern soul, roots reggae, acid house, disco, soul, vintage gospel and rare groove. He also creates large-scale music and art installations as one-half of the creative duo Block9. Recently, Block9 collaborated with Banksy to create an artist retreat on the Palestinian side of the West Bank barrier. The Walled Off Hotel hosted Brian Eno, the Black Madonna and others, all of whom created songs inspired by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (listen to them here: https://soundcloud.com/user-512771969/sets/block9-creative-retreat). The project is just one of many that show Gideon's deep love of music. We can't wait for him, Will and Nita to share the love with us here at the ’days.

Nowadays is an indoor and outdoor gathering place on the border of Bushwick and Ridgewood. We've got a full bar, a kitchen, a nice sound system, a wood dance floor and lots of trees and house plants.
Most of the time, it's free to come to Nowadays, but we do have a cover for some of our nighttime events. If there's a cover but you're a little tight on dough, you can buy early bird tickets on RA, or RSVP for reduced entry on Fridays and Saturdays at http://nowadays.nyc/rsvp
We want Nowadays to be a comfortable space for everyone. Please treat everyone with respect when you're here. If someone says or does anything to make you feel uncomfortable, let us know. All of our bartenders, security, managers, sound staff and door staff can help you.
Also, for the sake of the vibe, please don't take pictures or use your phone on or around the dance floor.
