TAYO - UK:
Tayo has been involved in shaping today's break beat sound since the scene's very early days. Whether writing about breaks, DJing or promoting the seminal breaks night 'Friction' with Adam Freeland and Renmnie Pilgrem, Tayo has proved himself an integral part of the breakbeat movement.
His Mob Records imprint kicked off the Stanton Warriors rise to prominence,( releasing "Da Virus" and "Da Antodote")as well as the introduction of Beber & Tamra. Mob has also released remixes or brand new tracks from the likes of Ashley Beedle, Lee Coombs, Koma & Bones, Nu Breed and Phil Kieran.
At the beginning of 2000 he mixed 'Y4K' for Distinctive Records. 'Y4K' was a chance to showcase his music that has taken him across the UK to the likes of Fabric, Bugged Out, Boutique, and Elements and across the world to Australia, Asia, the US and all over Europe. He currently holds Residencies in Manchester and London with Bugged Out! as well as with Urban Guerilla in Sheffield. He is also resident and co promoter of ROOTY, alongside Basemnt Jaxx, and took the club onto the terrace at Space in Summer 2002.
Having served an apprenticeship on Groovetech Radio and for the Ministry Of Sound, Tayo took over the Kiss FM breakbeat show in November 2001, increasing the show's audience, and turning it into an essential stopover point for every breakbeat and electro player, from James Lavelle, to Plump DJ's and Meat Katie to Billy Nasty, Keith Tenniswood and The Audio Bullys. No stranger to our shores, expect Tayo to take us on another journey with his fluid - dub infused breaks style
NOISIA - HOLLAND:
Noisia (the word VISION rotated 180 degrees) consists of three guys; Nik Roos(21), Martijn van Sonderen(20) and Thijs de Vlieger(22) from Groningen (Holland). Acquainted through the small graffiti community in the school they all went to, Nik and Thijs made friends in 1998 and started making music to kill time and have a laugh. Soon after their first confrontation with drum 'n bass, they started digging into it, and gradually making music just for fun evolved into a serious obsession to make good dnb.
After a few fruitful collaborations with Martijn, who had been in music (hiphop production/classical piano) for quite a while before he hooked up with Nik and Thijs, Martijn was added to the noisia team.
Citing their first ever visit to Australia and a long overdue one, Noisia have in the last 2 years established their hold on the DNB scene with solid production work that have become crate essentials for every well known DJ right down to those in the bedroom. With releases on the likes of Subtitles, Renagade Hardware, Moving Shadow and forthcoming on the prestigious Metalheadz label, as well as two tracks signed to Rockstar Games -Midnight Club 3, Noisia are quickly becoming the future sound of Drum & Bass!
