VOID is back in August hosting yet another outstanding international artist and outstanding local supports.
SINISTARR might have attracted your attention in the last few weeks with a killer split release with Om Unit on Footwork/Hardcore tip? If you missed that you might have heard his equally killer release on D-Bridge’s Exit label from a year or two ago, or maybe the drum funk belter on Inperspective records, or even the (very Detroit!) Metalheadz release from a few years back?
If these releases are not news to you then we know where you are going to be on August 10. If you are hearing about SINISTARR for the first time rest assured this guy is the real deal. A product of Detroit and a translation of the Detroit sound into the Drum and Bass genre and his more recent experimentations with the Footwork sound. On top of this if you have ever heard this guy mix you can expect everything from classic jungle, drum and bass, rave, dancehall and hip hop.
And on that note you won’t be surprised by our support act selections, a line-up of Dj’s that will represent everything that Void is about - from 120 bpm all the way up to 170. We are particularly excited about what Bec Paton has been into of late and also Semper Fi as both don’t play out in Sydney nearly enough!

Sinistarr (Metalheadz, 31 Records, Tectonic, Loose Squares) - DETROIT, MI USA
Sinistarr is one of the leaders of the dance music new school, a triple-threat as a DJ/Producer/serial Remixer who's as well known for his forward-thinking beats as he is for nightclub domination. Representing Detroit, Sinistarr's attacking both headphones and dancefloors for 2015.
If you know drum and bass you know Sinistarr as a respected junglist who's dropped heavyweight tracks over the years on Goldie's Metalheadz imprint, Doc Scott’s 31 Recordings, Hospital Records, Architecture Recordings and Renegade Hardware. Recently though, the man's been everywhere, applying his signature style to diverse sounds like footwork, techno and house with releases and remixes on SMOG, Tectonic, Human Elements, Seclusiasis, Juke Trax, and Loose Squares that show him moving beyond dance music conventions and constantly reaching out to a new audience. He’s even joined on as a member of the seminal group Urban Tribe, a team led by Drexciya member Stingray313 who boasts Carl Craig, Moodymann, and Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir as other contributors.
From gigs at South By Southwest in Austin, Ohm (Tresor) in Berlin, and the blue lagoons of Iceland, Sinistarr's been licking the envelope lately, and publications like URB, Vibe, Resident Advisor and Complex Magazine are taking note-- he is out in front.
