Vincent Floyd: [Dance Mania Records/Relief/Rush Hour//CHI]
We are honored to welcome Chicago house veteran Vincent Floyd (pictured here as a youth with the legendary Armando Gallop) for his debut at The Black Lodge!!! Floyd has been producer, promoter, DJ, and musician since 1987. His first release came out in 1990 on the infamous Dance Mania label, followed by a slew of releases on some of the world's most respected labels: Cajmere’s Relief Records, Mindfood, Rated X Records, Subwoofer, Resound, BBE, etc. and more recently on Rush Hour. In 1992, Floyd went on tour as a keyboardist with the master Larry Heard aka MR Fingers and soon after obtained a Bachelors in Music from Chicago State University, and a Masters of Arts degree from Roosevelt University. He worked for decades as a music teacher for Chicago Public Schools, and has inspired countless minds. As of 2016, he also started his own record label Dawn Notes Records.
