Born in the Netherlands, raised in Australia, and of Syrian-Iraqi descent, Wafia’s brooding, layered electro-pop has grown from recording covers in Brisbane to worldwide acclaim on the biggest stages. Signed to iconic Australian indie label Future Classic (Flume, Nick Murphy fka Chet Faker, SOPHIE, Ta-ku, G Flip), Wafia’s powerful voice floats and dips above shimmering, danceable synth production.
This November, she’ll be touring Europe for her second time, following a run last fall supporting BØRNS. Wafia will be riding high from a sensational summer, currently soundtracking the season with her recent EP ‘VIII’ and her stand-out vocals on Louis The Child's hit single, "Better Not.”
Clash Magazine called her an “enormously talented pop newcomer,” Pigeons and Planes says she makes “music that lives up to the daydream,” and NYLON deemed her a “rising talent” in their interview following a breakout performance at this year’s Coachella.
