UKとテクノのネクスト・フューチャー・サイエンス。エレクトロを経由したハイテックなミニマル・ベースで人気急上昇のMinor Science (Whities)がBeatrice Dillonに続く新興パーティ『pulse fiction』に初来日で登場。
テクノ／ハウスからレフトフィールド／オブスキュアなエレクトロニック・ミュージックまでをリリースし、現行のクラブ・シーンにおいて登竜門として名高いロンドンの〈The Trilogy Tapes〉からデビュー、先日の来日も記憶に新しいTasker主宰、 〈Young Turks〉の新興サブ・レーベル〈Whities〉から3枚のEPをリリースし、エレクトロを経由したUKハイブリッドかつハイテックなミニマル・ベースで人気急上昇のMinoce Scienceが、ロンドンの精鋭Beatrice Dillonでローンチした次世代ミニマル・パーティ『pulse fiction』の第2回に初来日で登場。国内からはハウス／テクノを軸にレフトフィールドなダンス・ミュージックの境界彷徨うベテラン1-DRINK、ライター、レーベル主宰、そしてプロデューサーとしてもデビューを果たしたJR Chaparro、'Ventti Slim Pack (Version)' と題されるコンセプト・セットで本パーティのオープニングを務める新鋭E.L.M.S.がDJで出演。リヴァイヴァルによって拡張される現行の90年代クラブ・ミュージックのカウンター、あるいは続編として00年代のサウンド”ミニマル”の次世代的な拡張を試みる『pulse fiction』に期待をして欲しい。

4年間のキャリアの中で〈The Trilogy Tapes〉のレフトフィールドなロウ・ハウスのデビューから〈Whities〉のハイテックなテクノ・サウンドへと移行したUK出身、ベルリン在中のMinor Science。ロンドンを拠点に独自のヴィジョンを打ち出す両レーベルからのリリースにより人気が急上昇、UKサウンドシステム・カルチャーを根底にアップデートされるブリストルのUKテクノとも共振するグルーヴにフューチャリスティックなエレクトロ、陶酔的なミニマル・ミュージック、そして自身がオーディエンスとしてクラブに通っていた00年代に影響受けた初期のダブステップやダーク・ガラージなどから織りなされるUKハイブリッドなサウンドはユニークな存在として欧州を中心に注目を集めている。2017年にリリースした’Volumes’はFACT、Mixmag、Crack Magazine、XLR8R、Resident Advisorの年間ベストに挙げられ、またアンビエントのミックステープ『Absent Friends Vol II』もPitchforkの年間ベストに選出、最近ではSpecial Requestのリミックスを手がけるなど、今後の活躍が期待されるプロデューサーである。

Minor Science:
Minor Science has come a long way in his career, transforming from a leftfield house explorer into an engineer of hybrid, hi-tech music which doesn’t quite sound like anything else out there.
Three records for the label have seen Minor Science move both forwards — his music has become crisper, richer and more distinctive — and backwards, drawing on his formative experiences as a clubber in London’s dubstep scene and a longterm fascination with the UK’s dance heritage. 2016’s “Naturally Spineless” was described by The Quietus as, “mixing up all the best elements of dubstep and dark garage from the early half of the last decade in a way that is wholly new.” His biggest track yet, 2017’s “Volumes”, featured on end of year lists from FACT, Mixmag, Crack Magazine, XLR8R and Resident Advisor.
The producer’s hybrid vision is reflected in his precise, frenetic DJ sets, which enact striking collisions of techno, electro and UK sounds. His recorded mixes have routinely featured in best-of roundups from Pitchfork, Crack Magazine and FACT.
