【 RadioheadやBEN UFOが熱烈なサポートをする Blawanがデビューアルバムを引っさげて超待望の再来日が決定!! 】
2010年代にポスト・ダブステップシーンにさっそうと現れ、時代を象徴するビッグヒットを連発してきたプロデューサー／DJ、Blawanが待望の新作アルバム『Wet Will Always Dry』を引っさげて久々となる超待望の来日公演が決定。11月9日にVENTで開催されるElephantの1周年パーティーに登場！
Ben UFOとPearson Soundが率いるHessle Audioやテクノの名門レーベルR&Sよりリリースした2011年頃の作品でその名をポスト・ダブステップシーンに知らしめ、ジャンルを超えてSurgeonやThe Back Dogなどのテクノシーンのアーティストからもサポートを受けてきたBlawan。R&BのBrandyの楽曲をサンプリングした”Getting Me Down”やMoodymannの声をサンプリングした”What You Do with What You Have”がアンダーグラウンドのクラブヒットに。RADIOHEADのリミックスアルバムのリミキサーに起用されたことで世界的に完全にブレイクスルーを果たした。
Blawanが出演するパーティーElephantは、2017年に7年ぶりに復活したパーティーで過去にはConforceやVon Grall、ASCを招聘してきた。今回は復活して1周年となる節目の開催で、Future TerrorのHarukaとBlack SmokerのYaziからなるユニットTwin Peaks、KonvektionやConfluxなどを仕掛けるYoshitaka Shirakura、そしてElephantのレジデントDJ、Rekiがメインフロアを支える。
Pariahと共にKarrrenを、Analogue Copsと共にParasselaを結成するなどサイドプロジェクトも積極的に行い、また時代と共にスタイルも進化し、モジュラーシンセサイザーを駆使したダイナミックなテクノスタイルを披露するようになっていったBlawan。日本でも人気のレーベルThe Trilogy Tapesからなどのリリースを経て、今年ついにフルアルバム”Wet Will Always Dry”を発表！このタイミングでの再来日は見逃せるはずはない！！
Blawan – who's been getting very enthusiastic props from artists like Radiohead and Ben UFO – will be making his much awaited return to Japan after the successful release of his debut album!
He broke into the Post-dubstep scene back in 2010, dropping numerous hits that would go on to exemplify an era, and earlier this year producer/DJ Blawan released his much-anticipated new album "Wet Will Always Dry" and now will be making his way back to Japan (Finally! We've been waiting!!) to play for us at Omotesando VENT, on November 9th!
Blawan cut his teeth back around 2010/2011 with some releases on Ben UFO and Peason Sound's Hessle Audio, as well as on prestigious Techno label R&S, making his name known within the Post-dubstep scene, and then went on to surpass the genre and gain the love and support from big time Techno artists like Surgeon and The Black Dog. He produced some underground club hits by sampling R&B star Brandy on one cut, "Getting Me Down", and also sampling the voice of Moodymann on "What You Do with What You Have". However, his major worldwide breakthrough came when he was the main remixer for Radiohead's remix album!
Balawan has been proactively involved in several side projects including Parassela with Analogue Cops and Karrren with Pariah, constantly evolving his style along with the sonic zeitgeist, and incorporating modular synths to produce a dynamic Techno style and sound. He's even released on labels like The Trilogy Tapes, which have been quite popular here in Japan, finally released his debut album, "Wet Will Always Dry"!
