The first Öst event sees Alex Smoke, Herron and DJ Lakritze DJing all evening long in the upstairs of the Fenton Pub. Expect a sonic journey through various kinds of underground, experimental dance music.
Alex Smoke
Alex Menzies, known to many as Alex Smoke, is a prolific Scottish producer and DJ from and based in Glasgow, who makes both electronic and orchestral music. He's been releasing music since the early 2000's, with his most notable release coming on R&S Records in 2013 - the Dust EP. That release is an exemplification of how Alex brings together a range of influences and a tendency towards the experimental to create something novel within a techno scene oversaturated with dry, unimaginative music.

Herron
Sam Lewis aka Herron co-founded the record label and club night meandyou, as well as co-founding and co-owning the nightclub Soup Kitchen in Manchester. meandyou has a plethora of talented producers signed to their label, both international and local to Manchester, from Kassem Mosse to JS Zeiter. Sam is a distinguished DJ and producer, having had tracks released on Workshop Records, meandyou, Joy Orbison and Will Bankhead's Hinge Finger imprint and most recently Air Texture for Steffi and Martyn's Air Texture Volume VI Compilation.

DJ Lakritze
One half of the Öst team, DJ Lakritze aka Seb Theodossiadis is a DJ and Music student based in Leeds, from Manchester. He hosts regular radio shows on MCR Live and Leeds Student Radio and has featured on Reform Radio, Limbo Radio, Pie Radio and Slink Radio. He is also part of the NWB team, who organise parties in Leeds and Bristol, with previous guests including Peach, Parris, Laksa and Chekov.
