Babylon Trio, Rebel Up DJ's, The Brussels Balkan Orchestra - Compartir
- This is the first Stoemp! evening at the Koer in Anderlecht! Together with Rebel Up, the Brussels collective & label with a heart for 'global sounds from the underground', we will have Babylon Trio on stage. The trio around the Iraqi key player Arkan Mushtak who arrived in Belgium several years ago as a refugee. He is accompanied by fellow musicians Walaa Saad (vocals & oed) and Saif Al-Qaissy (darbouka & backing vocals). The trio plays an infectious mix of contemporary electronic Iraqi music styles such as chobi chobi, dabke and maqam. Get ready for fire with a hint of acid rave! Nicolas Hauzeur & his Brussels Balkan Orchestra. The group reinstates real Balkan folk gems from the repertoire they gathered during their musical journeys to Romania, Bulgaria and Greece into orchestral versions. Rebel Up! SebCat & Rico Medeiros will play a DJ set before and after with danceable African, Arabian, Eurasian tunes. Come dance, come discover! All Stoemp! Concerts are free in!
