This February, let us strap you into our technicolored dream machine and shoot you face first into the sun.
Something Unlimited is a boundless experience that’s the first of it’s kind, in a venue that’s been aching for a party since it’s creation in 1887. An unimaginable lineup of bands and DJs that uncrosses arms and holsters egos, with visual art as immersive and unexpected as Coltrane’s heroin drenched licks.
This ambitious event is the brainchild of several seasoned creators determined to pilot 1200 adventurers into unchartered territories, on a journey that leaves no waste and no trace, other than the searing hot memory of a damn fine day.
And there are no powdered eggs or warm juice cups on the menu of this voyage, only fresh local flavours that traverse the multicultural universe of Northcote.
We’re shooting for the stars with this one, but for good reason.
SOMETHING ABOUT THE SPACE --------------------------------------
You could be forgiven for thinking George Johnson purpose built the Northcote Town Hall for a raucous party. The ten metre columns lining the entrance of the building are practically shuddering with excitement. The high, ornate ceilings of the main hall will look down on 1200 hip shaking revellers free to move like a summer breeze between the dance floor and the expansive courtyard outside. The maze of side rooms hold a few secrets of their own, and will flit between surreal installations and the whispers of a thousand D&Ms. Don’t be surprised if a door once open is now locked, or the room you stumbled on earlier is now the cupboard of a retired stoner janitor.

Something Unlimited welcomes branding, art direction and spiritual leadership from the twisted minds at Confetti Studio. Their limitless artistic visions define the madness that is this dream machine.
The Town Hall’s labyrinth of side rooms play host to a variety of visual and immersive experiences, with conceptual design from mad scientist Mikaela Stafford. Her experience building installations for Soft Centre and Lounge mean she is well placed to knit your mind into a sweater of psychological mystery.

This journey wouldn’t be complete without flavours to match. Something Unlimited welcomes a variety of local traders to get your tastebuds dancing, with an array of premium food and beverage options to suit all requirements.
