Just Jack Xiii: Underground Resistance, Marcel Dettmann, Gerd Janson & More

  • ***Important Info re Saturdays Event*** Unfortunately Underground Resistance’s Mike Banks can no longer make tomorrow nights party. We are very sad not to have him join us, but the good news is that UR's Mark Flash is still coming and will be playing as Mark Flash Live. We’re really sorry for anyone who had made plans especially to see the UR guys do their Depth Charge thing, we’re also seriously gutted that this isn’t happening, but at the same time we’re very excited to still have Mark and we all know he’s gonna tear the house down just the same. Much love x Just Jack ——————— JUST JACK XIII SAT FEB 2nd @ MOTION ——————— Oh yes oh yes. We’re back in the dance for a massive milestone, 13 years on, still going strong! It’s been a beautiful journey with all you lot and we’re super excited (and humbled!) to have made it this far. Once again we’ll be pulling out all the stops for the celebrations, and it looks like this is set to be the best one yet. After years of chasing them down, the legends that are UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE finally join us in Bristol. This is big. Mike Banks and Jeff Mills setting up the Underground Resistance record label is probably one of the most seminal moments in Detroit techno. Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Drexciya, and Underground Resistance themselves’ careers (plus loads of others) arguably all lead back to that moment. Under their own name, Underground Resistance, and their live project Galaxy 2 Galaxy, these Detroit OGs have created some of the most timeless techno records ever made. MAKE YOUR TRANSITION! Seriously... WTF. That tune is insane. ‘Hi Tech Jazz’... Say whuttt? These tracks still sound futuristic today! We doubt there has been a Just Jack in history where an Underground Resistance track hasn’t been played and we’ve finally got them to join us. So buzzed. Anyway. That’s just the start. Trust. Joining UR in the main room is one of our all time favourites. Berghain legend Marcel Dettmann. Last time he played for us he tore the roof off so it was only a matter of time before we had him back. Few people in the world can command a room like Motion’s main room the way Marcel does. Adding to that we have a return from Running Back top dawg, Gerd Janson, plus Octo Octa and one of our current faves, Peach. VIIIIIIBES FOR DAYS M8. Finally, in the intimacy of the Tunnel we welcome 2 of the UKs best selectors. Jamie Tiller is an insane DJ and a proper digger, but more than that he’s become a sort of music anthropologist through his work on his label Music From Memory, tracking down some of the most beautiful and obscure jams from around the world. Former buyer for cult record store Redlight Records and now boss man of one of the world’s best label’s, this guy is the real deal. He’s joined by our favorite radio deeeejay, Charlie Bones. Host of NTS radio’s most popular show and tireless peddler of seriously good vibes, this guy knows how to light up a dance. With these 2 in charge the Tunnel is going to be seriously popping! ——————— LAST ENTRY: 23.30
