  • SEQUENCE and U Street Music Hall teamed up to create Article - a monthly, Thursday-night party series in which we invite tremendously talented techno acts to the District for lineups we have just not been able to cram into our usual warehouse haunts. We are delighted to have another platform to let these incredible names shine. Doors open at 10PM, admission is free, and once you step in, prepare to switch on your brain, toast these outstanding, forward-thinking artists, and move your feet. Our first gifted talent will be M//R. Currently residing in Philadelphia, and a major contributor to the mid-Atlantic techno scene, M//R is making fluid, offbeat music perfect for home listening or an early night opening set. To widespread acclaim, M//R released Among The Methods on Great Circles in June 2018. It is not, however, M//R’s first foray into production. Under the Billy Werner moniker, M//R has created beautiful, idiosyncratic electronic music since 1999 on labels like L.I.E.S. and Kinfolk. Among The Methods brought M//R’s deep talent to full form, and delighted many in the District - particularly the SEQUENCE faithful; so much so he had to be our first guest for this new party. As a result, we could not think of a better artist for our inaugural event. Absolutely zero tolerance for sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, unsolicited touching, or any other oppressive behavior. If you feel that this kind of behavior is being directed at you at any time during the event, please approach an organizer or staff member with your concerns. Offenders will be dealt with immediately. Vigilant security will be on site and on the dance floor to ensure a safe dancing environment for everyone.
