Oblique is the coming together of three underground music heads. Sydney mainstays Tom Ackroyd, Lawrence Daffurn and newcomer Wilf Gray! Being deeply rooted in underground music but not conforming to any genre, Oblique aims to bring something unique to Sydney.
And we couldn't think of a more unique way to launch oblique than to team up with Solid Circles Touring and bring over one of the worlds most imaginative djs for his Australian debut - We're proud to present Nicloas Lutz (My Own Jupiter).
From Jupiter to Berlin and countless capitals in between, Nicolas Lutz has always operated best on the very outskirts of dance floor culture. A master of mystery and relentless seeker, his knack for unearthing precious gemstones - for immediate exploitation and then, slowly but surely, for the greater good of the community - is uncanny, and it’s this insistence on clearing a path between the unknown and the utterly unexpected that elevates his sets into explorations of faraway lunar landscapes and charters through the depths of murky seas. Never one to compromise or contradict a steadfast musical philosophy, one only needs to see the owner of My Own Jupiter in action to understand the existence of his cult following.
Support on the night comes from Oblique residents Lawrence Daffurn, Tom Ackroyd and Wilf Gray, plus we invite Entity:London's Tommy Wall along to give the Funktion 1's a good warm up. All together in the Inner West's best late night, low light venue - we're in for an exciting launch for Sydney's newest party.
