The present has no duration. Moments are ephemeral, time is immeasurable. Did it happen? Has the moment passed? Do our dreams continue once we have woken up? We don’t know for sure.
What we do know is the now. On Saturday the 16th of February, we will meet in a mystical space to choreograph an interlude in time, a beautiful instant - suspended above for all to see. The discrete will become singular over the course of a communal journey that knows no boundaries.
We could not think of anyone better-equipped to lead such a journey than that of Luca Cara, more commonly known as Spacetravel. The Italian-born, Berlin-based artist is distinguished by productions that are decisively futuristic and relentlessly forward thinking. Experimenting with cosmic bleeps, abstract chords, and angular basslines, Spacetravel’s sound is an enticing blend of the supernatural and natural. His extensive catalogue boasts two full-length LPs on Perlon and Melliflow, in addition to coveted releases on those same labels as well as Cabaret Recordings, Time Passages and his own Traveling Without Moving.
As a DJ, Spacetravel is revered for the same nuanced approach he displays in the studio, purveying sonic journeys that are ripe with feeling. Exploratory in nature, his sets find a unique nexus between electro, house and techno. The profound impact he has on dance floors is testament to his ability to balance momentum for the body with intricacy for the mind. With appearances at some of the most respected venues across the globe, Spacetravel has undoubtedly cemented himself among the upper echelons of electronic music.
