Sunday May 5th sees us return to Oval Space for another of our favourite sessions of the year, our 16 hour day and night Opening Party. This is where Secretsundaze is fully unleashed as we get to invite some of our favourite international DJs to do their thing in front of a truly appreciative and up for it, home-grown crowd.
Taking the headlining reins once again, we’re thrilled to welcome back Joe Claussell. Joe’s uncompromising approach to life and music has led him to become one of the most respected authorities on music, spirituality and house. Whether through his singular approach to his original productions, and much lauded edits, remixes and reworks, his attention-demanding DJ sets either solo or alongside his Body & Soul partners Francois K and Danny Krivit, Joe is a cosmic force to be reckoned with and an artist still very much at the top of his game. We can’t give too much away but keep your eyes peeled for a further announcement re Joe Clausell x Secretsundaze label biz in the coming weeks.
We also have a special guest coming to play for us from the legendary Sound Signature label. This is going to be kept under wraps until a later date so stay tuned - you won’t be disappointed.
Popping her Secretsundaze cherry is Ash Lauryn. Born and raised in Detroit and an active member of the local rave scene since an early age, she’s been turning heads through her ‘Underground and Black’ blog and monthly NTS show of the same name. Her real-deal soulful credentials have garnered praise from the likes of Kai Alce to Honey Soundsystem and DISCWOMAN and we’re excited to offer her a platform to spread her message on the London stop of her second EU tour.
Looking after things on the terrace during the afternoon are one of a bunch of new South London local heroes, Touching Bass aka Errol & Alex Rita. We first came across these guys as Alex was a long time collaborator of Secretsundaze Studios, and since been following their fortnightly NTS shows and general dancefloor manoeuvres, alongside Alex’s involvement the Steam Down collective. Expert a fresh weave across jazz, soul and broken beat.
Of course, our founders James & Giles will also be performing on the night, coming correct for the Secretsundaze faithful as only they know how. Early Bird tickets now on sale, don’t sleep on this one!
