The fourth year starts strong with the italian duo RVDE and the irish rave lover Tommy Holohan.
RVDE is a project started by two friend around 2012 near Milan. Since then their releases and DJ mixes simply smashed all expectations. Tracks like CNB (on Overdraw) or 90’s Hammer (on T/W/B) feel already like classics and apart from them you can find their releases on labels like PLS.Uk and soon on our own imprint Counterweight! Self-Described as: “Rollin' and driving techno influenced by modern industrial and oldschool rave sounds with a groovy and punchy approach” there is nothing really to add… Well, yes, RVDE is pronounced like “rude”.
Tommy Holohan is the Rave Selekts boss and Techno & Cans resident. his rise to worldwide notoriety has been unprecedentedly quick but most definitely deserved. Hes music productions showcase various styles across techno, rave, jungle as well as going as far as club house that has attracted the attention of bigger names like Dax J, who already signed a track of Holohan in the last V.A. “The World of Monnom Black”, Mall Grab and also Mixmag, all of whom have touted him on the highest platforms. Having released on his own label Rave Selekts along with fellow Irish talent Casper Hastings and then attracting the glistening ears of Resident Advisor and DJ Mag, who both premiered tracks from his first solo EP that took different aspects of his adolescence in rush and reimagined them in four tracks that touch on ambient, rave, techno and break beat in what was easily one of the most interesting releases of the year on an international scale.
Besides them, the heads of Counterweight Gonzo MDF and Marco H will heat up the room and take care that you go home with no energy left
