  • Wattstax is a live concert film documenting the epic 1972 Stax festival at the L.A. Coliseum featuring performances by R&B legends Isaac Hayes, Rufus Thomas, Albert King, The Staples Singers, and many more, interspersed with satirical comedy bits from the late, great Richard Pryor. One of the greatest rock n’ roll films of all time, Wattstax captures a revolutionary L.A. in turmoil, beginning as a reflection of the 1965 Watts riots and ending by nearly turning into a riot itself! Special guests to be announced. ------------ Red Bull Music returns to the City of Angels for the next installment of the critically acclaimed international music series. From February 7th until February 28, Red Bull Music Festival Los Angeles 2019 will explore how music intersects with film, gaming, photography and more, as well as partnering with groundbreaking artists from Los Angeles and around the world for special performances and lectures. The festival made it’s Los Angeles debut in the Fall of 2017 and this year’s installment follows six acclaimed Red Bull Music Festivals in New York City, and the festival’s Chicago debut this fall.
