Throughout his illustrious career, the BBC Radio 6 DJ has made it his mission to chronicle obscure and wonderful music from all over the world. Expect varied selection spanning jazz, house, hip-hop & soul. The British heavyweight plays back to back with Bradley Zero in the Main Room. Green Room: Brian Shimkovitz AKA Awesome Tapes From Africa was on a Fulbright scholarship in Ghana when he got hooked on the regional cassette culture. Street vendors sold West African tapes in a plethora of genres, from highlife to African disco and soul to local pop. Much of his style is largely unheard outside of West Africa. He headlines the Green Room. Donna Leake offers support. - Admission to XOYO is at management's discretion, advance tickets do not guarantee entry.
