Sat May 25 - The South London Soul Train invites you to "Move on Up" and "Keep On Keepin' On" to the breathtaking, soulsonic chronic that is the sound of Curtis Mayfield. THE CURTOM ORCHESTRA performing a LIVE tribute to this genius of classic to modern soul & disco music with a stunning 90 minute live set. TCO rinsing and exploring the cream of his back catalogue and giving it new life, performed with an exciting new energy and up front attitude. Followed by an extended Curtis deck flow (+ later eclectic funk, soul, jazz and hip hop set) on LEVEL 1 by SLST guest host AJ KWAME (standing in for dancefloor nuker in chief, DJ JAZZHEADCHRONIC). "Superfly" to "If There's a Hell Below..." via "Freddie's Dead". Leaving you "Tripping Out" to "Get Down". With KEITH LAWRENCE opening with an audio blow torch from 10pm sharp, you know we mean business. Maximum scorchio!!!

THE CURTOM ORCHESTRA - Made up of some of the UKs finest Soul, Jazz and Funk musicians, The Custom Orchestra formed back in June 2011 in order to be both the warm up and backing band for the IMPRESSIONS London Barbican and Manchester Bridgewater Hall Shows. After tearing down the house at both concerts and glowing reception by the critics, audience and (more importantly) original Impressions band members (with whom they'd just performed) The Custom Orchestra was born and since their inception truly haven’t looked back.
Over the last 8 years the hugely in demand band firmly establishing themselves as The UKs premier exponents / channellers of The sound and spirit of Curtis Mayfield & The Impressions.

Rare Cuts to Classics, Jump Up to Get Down. Expect pure fire in the basement, as Rye Wax DJs ignite a powder keg of good time sounds and invite you to dance harder y'all. The South London Soul Train (as always) All floors, will be taking, all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. P-Funk to Jazz Funk, Soul Jazz to Rare Groove N’ Stax, Brass, Breaks, Bop and Hop to Motown, Club Classics and Anthems.
However - Passengers are requested to check their Souls at the Station as this one's for good time party people only! No Bass Wobbles Here, Only Love, Funk and Souuuuuuuul.
