For week one the residency, Derrick invites none other than fellow Chicago native and long-time friend Honey Dijon, who he has mentored for years, having been the one to introduce her to the sounds of jacking house and Detroit techno in their hometown: ‘Of course, Derrick and Chicago house were very influential in my development as an artist…’ Her DJ sets are often described as hypnotic, blending the goods of her record collection so expertly, which often works everyone into a frenzy on the dance floor as she drops eclectic and unexpected tracks. ‘She’s a fierce bitch. Dance music needs more fierce bitches.’ Derrick Carter. - Admission to XOYO is at management's discretion, advance tickets do not guarantee entry.
