Following our last few collaborative nights bringing the likes of Juan Atkins and Pinch B2B Beneath to the cage, we return to The Cause with the latest installment of our Explorations series. Following on from Explorations #006 with Skee Mask, Bruce and Afrodeutsche, #007 sees us continuing in the same vein, exploring a wide range of dark, broken sounds.
ZENKER BROTHERS [Ilian Tape / Tresor] -
Ilian Tape are definitely one of our favourite labels here at Unbound. Bringing Skee to London in December was super special, so we only thought it would be right to bring back their gritty, smoky vibes! This time round, we bring you head honchos, Marco and Dario Zenker, to top the bill.
The Zenker Brothers and their label are a perfect fit for Unbound, taking in influences from a disparate palette of hip-hop, dub and junglist breakbeats – through their distinctive collage of intricate drum programming and hazy synths, the pair have risen to prominence at the forefront of the 21st century Bavarian techno sound.
object blue [Let's Go Swimming / Tobago Tracks] -
London’s very own object blue has recently won acclaim, with her angular, propulsive tracks filled with sharp percussion kicking off a rapid ascent for her. Her take on experimental dance music features wild, contrasting textures with unique, broken rhythms, which perfectly aligns with the Unbound ethos.
She's one of our favourite recent breakout artists and we can't wait to see what she brings for us whilst opening for the Zenkers.
TASHA [Neighbourhood] -
With her own record label, techno parties and a Rinse FM residency, TASHA is no stranger to the London techno scene. Featuring alongside heavyweights such as Hauff and Blawan, her selections have seen her earn spots on a wide range of diverse lineups at some of London's top spots and further afield.
Neighbourhood has seen releases from a broad scope of artists, including Berlin artist Kamikaze Space Programme, as well as a wide range of UK producers including Randomer and Forest Drive West.
DJ Winggold [Unbound] -
Unbound's founder DJ Winggold returns with his Afrofuturist style, featuring gqom, broken beat, tribal rhythms as well as psychedelic electro and techno. Expect thumping tunes from an array of cultures, expressing what it is to truly be Unbound.
Aidan Ray B2B DJ Paramedic [Unbound / Untitled #909] -
Two of Unbound's finest go back to back for the first time in the absence of Dr Blowfin, providing an eclectic blend of spacey electro, EBM and techno.
