A.FRUIT - Teklife, Medschool, Hyperboloid, Sequel One, Black Marble, Rua Sound + many more (https://soundcloud.com/annafruit / https://www.mixcloud.com/afruit / https://www.facebook.com/fruitbass) Anna Fruit was born in 1989 in Moscow, Russia (USSR at the time) and now based in Saint-Petersburg. Her passion for music began in childhood - at school she played the guitar and sang her own songs to friends. In 2008, while studying sociology in Moscow State university, she discovered Ableton Live, and it changed her life. She started making music, and decided to get a second education as a sound engineer to improve her craft. In 2012 Anna graduated the University and simultaneously completed her certificate in audio engineering. Then, for some years she worked as a sound technician on TV channels, in parallel continuing to produce electronic music. A.Fruit found her 160 bpm-focused sound somewhere in between her longtime loves of drum n bass, jungle, hip-hop, and especially footwork. Her professional music career began in 2015, since then A.Fruit has released three EPs and around 30 original tracks and remixes on compilations worldwide. Her music has appeared on labels including Med School, Teklife, Hyperboloid, Sequel One Records, Black Marble Collective and more. Outside of her own music, A.Fruit creates sound effects and music of other genres for PC games (Gremlins, Inc., Skyforge, Pathfinder: Kingmaker and other) and provides digital mastering in her home studio. On tours Anna explores the world and people, delivering DJ sets that delight with a mixture of 160-170 bpm music from footwork and jungle to future beats and halftime. ADDISON GROOVE 2 hour, 160+ set - Gutterfunk, Hyperdub, 50 Weapons, Swamp 81 (https://soundcloud.com/addisongroove / https://www.mixcloud.com/addisongroove / https://www.facebook.com/pg/addisongroove) Bristol born and bred, Addison Groove has been pushing the Chicago footwork sound since making loads of Dubstep kids say ‘what the fuck’s this’ when he dropped Footcrab way back in 2010. Fast forward 3 years and speed up by about 20pbm and he’s got a track on with DJ Rashad on footwork pioneers debut album Double Cup. From there more Teklife collaborations followed, as well as EPs with DJ Die, Sam Binga; remixes for the likes of Amit and Ticklish and 2 albums on 50 Weapons. With a slew of releases taking in a multitude of genres on some of the most respected underground electronic labels in the world, Addison Groove has earned a place in the history of the UK electronic music scene. On Sunday 5th May he’ll be playing us a special, 2 hour, 160+ set. get on it. ALGORITHMIC - Erisian, Lickshot, Bill Up, Our Fucking Jungle, Ninja Columbo, Hi Heads (https://soundcloud.com/algorithmic / https://www.mixcloud.com/Algorithmic) Mate, have you even been to a jungle rave in Bristol if you don’t know who Algorithmic is? He makes tracks that sound like this https://soundcloud.com/algorithmic/survival-clip Are you mad? BARRY WEST - Eat Your Greens Any jungle in guy? GRAY (https://soundcloud.com/gray_music/tracks) Gray turned up at the first bearpit party with a bag of records so we let him on the decks for 20 mins. He kicked it’s fucking head in so here he is with a full 60 mins to show you what he’s made of. JAMEELA – SlutDrop ( https://soundcloud.com/akajameela / https://www.facebook.com/jameeelaaa / https://www.facebook.com/slutdropleeds) A self-described ADH-DJ, JAMEELA has trouble settling into a clearly-defined musical box. Having cut her teeth playing at some of the finest nights the northern underground club scene has to offer – Slut Drop, SKIN, and Putting In Werk, to name a few – she has quickly established a reputation for consistently delivering an energetic and colourful collage of turbo-charged breaks, glitched-out vocals, and brain-melting bass drops. It’s no surprise, then, that she’s been invited to share bills with the likes of Samurai Breaks, Jaguar, and rRoxymore. As she continues to take a gleefully unapologetic approach to mixing, by blending and somersaulting between jungle, footwork, drum n bass, and everything in between, it’s clear this one’s one to watch. Kiki D (https://soundcloud.com/kikibristol) Staying quiet and playing her cards close, Kiki has been honing her craft for the past few years ready to unleash her own style of halftime DnB productions and an ear for tune selection that's already caught the attention of some of the scene s biggest players K MEANS – Noods Radio (http://noodsradio.com/residents/instant-yum-w-k-means / https://www.facebook.com/djkmeans / https://www.mixcloud.com/tr-isha ) Purveyor of some of the finest juke, jungle and ghettotech about, K Means never fails to please. HORZA – Pace Yourself (https://soundcloud.com/horza) Former stall wart of the Liverpool dubstep scene and one of the finest promoters in town for a good while, Horza’s gonna be bringing a mixed bag of party bangers to start room 2 off the right way. HURTDEER - WONK#AY, Twenty/Twelve, Acroplane, Life After Math, Circutree (https://soundcloud.com/hurtdeer / https://www.mixcloud.com/hurtdeer / https://www.facebook.com/hurtdeermusic ) A Bristol-based nerd with a deer gimmick and a dedication to keeping dance music weird. Has the kind of wanton manic brain that refuses to stick to a specific genre from one tune to the next, creating branding and expectation difficulties. However, can always promise that the Deer’s live sets will be pulsing layers of rhythm and bass, varying in speed and intensity, but always designed to make you move in natural, but surprising ways. Also part of the Mothers Against Noise crew, with Seppa, Myr and [Insert Gore], who hosts a radio show on avalaf.co.uk every two weeks. Makes the comic Motion Hole, whenever the musical side of the personality isn’t dominating. Tweets a lot of stuff that is probably terrible for brand synergy. Plays a lot of Street Fighter. Likes long walks on the beach and “good vibes”. Has released music with MostlyAllSorts, Broken Bubble, Circuitree Records, and, of course, the badboys at Wonk#ay records. And bandcamp. Seen blasting music loudly at various gigs, such as Noisily Festival, Boomtown, Wonk#ay Spesh Events, Jungle Syndicate, Hodgepodge, Tiki, Trust in Bass and Hurtdeer’s Bedroom. IMPURITY – That Thing (https://soundcloud.com/impurity-1) Murderation from ‘poolside SAMURAI BREAKS - The Dreamers, Halogen Music, Aufect Recordings, Forest Biz., WONK#AY Recordings, UK Jungle, Plush Recordings (https://soundcloud.com/samuraibreaks / https://www.facebook.com/SamuraiBreaks) Samurai Breaks bringing the heat to lively up the dance, fusing together high energy breaks, chopped vocals, wobbling basslines and turbo sass into a euphoric dancefloor explosion, dress to sweat because its going to get saucy. Air play on Radio 1 and Noisia radio and a Rinse FM 100% production mix for Marcus NastyFounding member of Putting In Werk (Leeds) and a resident with Boombox Circus, Beatherder Festival and Eden Festival TONY LOCO – That Thing (https://soundcloud.com/tony-loco/tracks) Pass. YAWK – Hamchild (https://soundcloud.com/hamchild / https://soundcloud.com/bs57ar/tracks /https://www.facebook.com/HamChildpresents/) The big ham on campus has been a staple of the Bristol scene for a few years now, regularly seen tearing down venues such as Cosies, the Black Swan and Blue Mountain.
