This is #TechnoThursday history in the making, and our guest needs no introduction. A name synonymous with Berlin's techno mecca Berghain, and one of the most influential proponents of the genre today, MARCEL DETTMANN will be making his Singapore debut this May.
With a distinct sound that favours the ruff, raw and rugged, Ostgut Ton heavyweight MARCEL DETTMANN has rightly taken his place as one of the world’s most recognisable techno DJs. Introduced to electronic music at a young age, just as the Berlin wall crumbled into rubble, Dettmann immersed himself in the new sound that unified Germany; a pulsating techno heartbeat that had reinjected life into the city.
This was a defining time for techno, and Dettmann was among the few architects to shape it into what it is today. Pushing through the ranks of the German capital's underground scene, with his signature brand of brooding, propulsive beats he secured himself a residency at the iconic Berghain upon its inception in 2004, and has been a driving force behind the genre ever since.
The night promises nothing short of debauchery, as MARCEL DETTMANN delivers the chest-rattling beats and rumbling basslines. Need we say more? Hands down - this is a #TechnoThursday not to be missed.
