과거와 미래를 넘나드는 환상적인 셀렉션, 특유의 지적이면서 유쾌한 감성, 그리고 플로어를 흥분시키는 세심하고 미묘한 그루브... 지난 두번의 내한을 통해 vurt.가 가장 사랑하는 디제이 중 한명으로 손꼽히고 있는 Marco Shuttle이 2019년 5월 vurt의 시그네이쳐 나잇인 vurtnight을 위해 서울에 돌아온다. Marco Shuttle의 3시간 디제이 셋과 함께 하는 5월의 vurtnight은 오는 18일 토요일 밤 11시부터 시작된다.

Marco Shuttle은 언제나 작고 미미한 것으로부터 큰 성취를 이끌어냈으며, 그 특유의 미적 특징은 Shuttle을 다른 아티스트들과 차별화시킨다. 영화적인 그의 테크노 사운드는 색다른 방식의 유기성을 지니며, 미묘하게 긴장감을 고조시키는 그의 세심한 그루브는 언제나 청중들을 새롭고 흥미로운 미지의 곳으로 이끈다. 그 결과 Shuttle은 테크노 전문가들이 선호하는 아티스트로 확고히 자리 잡았음은 물론, 뉴욕의 명망 있는 클럽 Bunker의 새로운 레이블에서부터 Peter Van Hoesen의 독보적인 레이블 Time To Express, 그의 홈그라운드와도 같은 Eerie Records, 그리고

이탈리아에서 태어나 런던에서 자란 그는 St Martin's에서 패션 학위를 얻은 바 있기도 하다. 이러한 창조적 작업을 하나로 엮어내는데 있어 추상적이며 유기적인 질감에의 집중은 큰 몫을 차지한다. 이는 또한 Fabric, Berghain, 일본의 Labyrinth 페스티벌 등에서 그가 선보여온, 타이트하게 짜인 디제이 셋을 정의하는 포인트이기도 하다. 지적인데다 사뭇 별나기까지 한 그의 사운드는 애시드 하우스나 디트로이트 테크노뿐 아니라 재즈, 뮈지크 콩크레트에까지 그 뿌리를 뻗친다. 초창기 그에게 명성을 가져다준 몇장의 앨범들의 발매 이후, 그는 Clone에서 훌륭한 추상적 트랙들을 연이어 선보이는 한편, Third Side를 위한 리믹스를 발표하기도 하였다. 이후 Shuttle은 동료 프로듀서인 Donato Dozzy와 Anxur라는 이름의 콜라보레이션 프로젝트를 발표해 흥미로우며 유연한 새 작업을 드러내며 그가 독특한 세계관을 지닌 테크노 음유시인임을 증명하고 있다.
Marco Shuttle has always achieved a lot with a little, and that is the singular aesthetic that stands him apart. His cinematic techno sounds are unusually organic: they build pressure in subtle ways and his meticulous grooves never fail to take listeners on a trip to somewhere new and exciting. As a result of this, he has become a firm favourite amongst the techno cognoscenti and has released on some of the most revered labels of the day, from famed New York club The Bunker’s new label to Peter Van Hoesen’s untouchable Time To Express via Clone SOS and his regular home, Eerie Records and lately on fellow Italians Dozzy’s and Neel’s new label, Spazio Disponibile
Italian born but London based, where he also gained his MA in Fashion at St Martin’s. What ties his creative work together is a focus on abstract yet organic texture and the same thing defines his tightly woven DJ sets from Berghain to Labyrinth in Japan. His eclectic cerebral sound takes cues from experimental jazz and musique concrete as much as it does from acid house and Detroit techno.
Early breakout records like his ‘The Vox Attitude’ have been followed up with great outings on Clone, Time To Express, a collaboration with compatriot and fellow producer and friend Donato Dozzy as Anxur on Eerie and his first LP Visione again on Eerie Records, his very own well-formed label, and prove Marco Shuttle to be a uniquely minded techno troubadour.
