  • Sunday Love, June 23rd • Green Room 4PM Advance Tickets on sale Friday, May 1st @ noon. Get Tickets: http://bit.ly/SundayLove0623 After the release of his highly anticipated album, Graal (Prologue), German producer Christian Löffler stops at Sunday Love as part of his North America Tour. Christian Löffler’s newest album, released on April 5th via his own imprint Ki Records, employs his signature melancholic sound and continues to draw on the importance of his physical surroundings as inspiration. Named after the town he resides in, Graal (Prologue), contains music that was created in a period where Löffler was constantly away on tour - sketches of melodies written on the road. The resulting six tracks on the album have a minimal and focused feel, and are also accompanied by Christian Löffler’s own art; a series of hand-drawn monochromatic sketches that served as inspiration for the music. An original member of Innervisions, along with Ame and Dixon, Marcus Worgull carries with him a wide selection of music and his talent allows him to weave sets that takes listeners on a musical journey. He is joined by Atticus Moon whom we are very excited to welcome back after a stellar performance at Sunday Love earlier in the season. The cabin is Christian Loeffler's atelier, where he locks himself up to work on both his visual art und his music. In the centre of the room is a huge oak table, splotched with multicoloured oil paints, surrounded by canvases, cameras tripods, tools, brushes. There's a great view of the sea, and the wide patio windows allow the light to flood inside, casting shadows of the leaves and branches across the walls and onto the table. There's a small fireplace which allows him to work during the winter, so that he can continue his introspective creative process during the cold months too. The place is very basic – working, sleeping, cooking, all in one room; yet it's these modest and in some ways rudimentary parameters that allow Loeffler to make sincere and honest music, concentrating on just the essentials. 'Mare' is his second studio album and follows in a similar vein to his self-released debut, 2012's 'A Forest'. However a key difference is that while his first album was heavily sample-based, 'Mare' is much more organic, in which nearly every sound and every instrument is self-recorded. Consequently, six-year-old Marcus didn’t place himself on a soapbox to play those non-existing ones to his relatives during family celebrations. I bet you are glad that we clarified that. Instead, Marcus had to go the really hard way. It was the late 80’s and growing up in cosy Wuppertal near Cologne, Germany that meant lots of learning, digging, searching and no perching at all.
