- Last month Habibi Funk took us on a trip through the Arab world - big love to all of you who came through to that. For our last show before the autumn, we are hopping continents and welcoming long-time BH favourite and Sao Paolo's finest DJ Tahira over from Brazil as part of a select few European shows. 50% of proceeds will be going to One Happy Family - Community Center, Lesvos, which is built and run by refugees and for refugees. https://ohf-lesvos.org/en/welcome/ Cutting his teeth on the Sao Paulo DJ circuit in the '90s, Tahira has become famous for championing all varieties of Afro-Brazilian music, styles that are often overlooked by western DJs in favour of the heavily American influenced Brazilian boogie and disco sounds. His edits have become staples for DJs such as Francois K, Gilles Peterson, Nightmares on Wax and more and his edit of Gilberto Gil's "Toda Menina Baiana" received the seal of approval from Gil himself. Join us for a night celebrating the finest Brazilian music.
