Resident Advisor will be recording an RA Exchange interview with Tim Sweeney at Freda’s on the 8th of June, prior to his 20 years of Beats In Space show at the venue.
If you aren’t familiar with RA's Exchange series at this point, it’s (to use the familiar line) "a series of conversations with the artists, labels and promoters that are shaping the electronic music landscape." To this end, Tim Sweeney is the perfect choice, and someone long overdue. His radio show on WNYU has been running for 2 decades, and has seen some of the most influential names in electronic music drop by for guest mixes, from DJ Harvey, Prins Thomas and Horse Meat Disco to James Holden, Trentemøller and Four Tet. His label of the same name was founded in 2011, and focuses on the same styles of leftfield deep house and disco that define his DJ sets. He’ll be interviewed by Lorna Clarkson.
