Electronic musician and poet Moor Mother and south London artist Klein present a double-bill of new works, written or arranged in collaboration with a small ensemble of musicians from the London Contemporary Orchestra.
The Great Bailout is a free verse poem that acts as a non-linear word map about colonialism, slavery and commerce in Great Britain and the commonwealth, and represents the first collaboration between Philadelphia’s Moor Mother and players from the pioneering London Contemporary Orchestra.
Merging social realism with eerily surreal imagery and an immediacy of delivery, Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother) is unmatched in inventiveness. A musician, poet and visual artist, Camae has performed at festivals, colleges, galleries and museums around the world. Like Moor Mother, Klein is tough to pin down, merging R&B, pop and sonic detritus across her progressive output of music and film.
