Or:la's growing success as a dynamic producer and genre-spanning selector has seen her rise to stand as one of the most exciting artists about, Saturday 28th September she continues her residency at Patterns. For her third party, she invites Timedance chief and all-around electronic music figurehead Batu + club resident Momo for a night of techno, house, breaks and other-worldly electronic explorations.
Timedance owner Batu has carved out a unique sound for himself since his debut in 2013. Subsequent 12″s on a number of labels including XL Recordings, Hessle Audio and his own Timedance imprint have found him grounded in British bass-bin principles. His style however is relentlessly forward thinking, and pushing his sound in adventurous, inventive ways that have become something of a signature aesthetic. His DJing is also increasingly respected worldwide. A standout set at Dekmantel's Selectors festival earned him a place in The Guardian's 'Best Mixes of 2018' list, and Mixmag ranked him as one of their top 20 DJs in 2017.
Momo is a DJ from South London, her style traverses the more unusual, rhythm and percussion-focussed areas of dance music - mixing everything from squeaky leftfield house to gritty techno into melodic pop vocals. She has also hosted and guested on various radio stations - Balamii, Reprezent, Patterns Radio, and recently contributed the 20th edition of Untitled #909's podcast series.
