Lets Get Minimal are back at the Empire, kicking off the summer on this fine loony weekend of music madness with help from the mother land of electronia Germany, Daniel Dreier! Master Dreier is on tour of Australia with Highgrade Records one of the labels that has built the musical soul of Berlin.
With initial roots of Hip hop Daniel got hooked on the infectious beats of techno in the early years of the legendary Bunker NightClub of Berlin. Daniel moved on to other levels, he hit the scene in 2005 dramatically when Tom Clark, Phage and himself started to produce their first tracks for the Highgrade label. Daniel is renowned for his deep, driving and sexy take on the minimal sound, sometimes referring to his own musical vibe as 'deep and ugly' - surely a throw back to his Hip-Hop days, along with his defence in an ever dying breed of vinyl lovers.
He is a product of the club, not a stuffy musical academic, and these qualities make him the life of the party, at once likeable and authentic. Daniel loves to play the Afterhours, where the music becomes "not a job, but a need"
Most dancers agreed and loved his sets, which surely found ample audiences on his 2009 Australia and New Zealand tour at the start of the year where Brisbane unfortunately had to miss out...well there's no way thats going to happen this time!
Fine local support is high on the agenda naturally. One of the busiest guys in the Oceania Mini/tech/house scene founder of "Last Minute" events Logan Baker from Meb/NZ will be rocking some fine tunes out along side our other guest Fuzion who is well known in the local scene playing a wide variety of parties and involved with projects such as Kana and Colours. From the LGM Strongold playing is Lee Majors one of Byron Bay's finest and Robohan who will be just returning from his first tour of Hong Kong.
So all bases covered! We even planned a rest day on Satrurday before Stereosonic on Sunday just for you guys B) See you there if you can make it, Minimal on!!!
