Two of Europe’s top tier minimalists unite, as Rhadoo and Sonja Moonear return to Room One. As a co-founder of the peerless [a:rpia:r] imprint, Rhadoo has long been regarded as a pioneer within Romania’s electronic music scene. While his label helped instigate a movement for minimal-minded techno coming out of Bucharest, he’s equally lauded for his DJ performances. Behind the decks, he blends stripped-back cuts with surgical precision, building to a climax that’s as groovy as it is hypnotic. Sonja Moonear famously cut her teeth at Geneva’s Weetamix club, before honing her craft under the wing of Zip and the Perlon camp. She’s now one of the minimal house sound’s best-loved selectors, renowned for her deft mixing prowess and ability to cut between slick minimal, house, techno, electro, garage, and anything else that fits. London favourite, Toi Toi Musik mainstay and revered Japanese DJ Junki Inoue finally rounds off what should be a night of high calibre selections drawing from every corner of electronic music.
