- Well here we are with not only a Merry Shrugmass....but also our first Birthday party (yep...Shrug's one year old already!) I’d like to say a massive THANK YOU for every DJ’s who’s played, every punter who’s come for a dance and all those other people who have made the Shrug a great place to hang out and listen to some quality music. To mark this occasion we've got our first INT guest, Jay Shepheard (Compost black / Buzzin Fly / Diynamic) who is in our minds one of the best new deep house talents around. Alongside our guest we have 2 of Sydney’s best DJ’s Robbie Lowe & Matt Aubusson as well as youngster Robbie Cordukes and oldster Dave Stuart on warm up duties. With the help of strong DJ support the EP gave Jay good profile straight off the bat which was built upon nicely with the follow up EPs "Black Label 28" released in December 07 and "Black Label 34" in June 08. All the three of the 4 track EPs received critical acclaim from DJs, music lovers and the press alike and earned Jay a nomination for Best Deep House act of 2007 in the Beatport Mucic Awards. Aswell as his solo EPs on Compost Jay has also been busy with remixes and colaborations and is currently working with artists including Faze Action, Manuel Tur & Dplay, Roberto Rodrigues, Tj Kong, Robert Owens and labels including Diynamic, Four:Twenty, Glimpse and Juno. Outside of the studio Jay is also building a reputation on the worlds dance floors, using a combination of DJing and Ableton Live to showcase new, unreleased and exclusive material at venues and clubs such as Fabric, The End and T Bar in London, Hive in Zurich, DIY in Hamburg and Harry Klien in Munich. Over the years Glitch have had international guests such as Kompakt’s Michael Mayer and Superpitcher, Spectral Sound’s Matthew Dear, Minus’ Magda, Tresor’s Stewart Walker, Tyler Stadius and Fabrice Lig. More recently, Matt and Dave revived the party in 2009 when Glitch hosted Minus artist Konrad Black. Until recently, Matt had taken a break from promotion and touring to focus on his DJing. Working from a wide selection of music – tech house to electro, minimal to techno and a healthy dose German tech – over nearly ten years as DJ, Matt has DJed at every major nightclub in Sydney as well as numerous festivals and special events locally, interstate and abroad. This has included Fuzzy Field Day, We Love Sounds, Earthdance, the Cockatoo Island Festival and Tahiti’s ‘Good Life’ Electronic Music festival. Interstate, Matt has played as a guest of the legendary club Honkytonks in Melbourne, as well as Sorry Grandma, Ffour and Killing Time. http://www.myspace.com/glitchdjs ROBBIE LOWE – Doesn’t really need an introduction to anyone who’s set foot inside a Sydney nightclub over the last 15 years. Robbie Lowe is undeniably one of Australia’s most talented and respected Deep & Tech-House to Progressive & Techno DJ’s. 2009 so far has seen Robbie continuing is high profile supports including the recent ‘We Love Sounds’ festival, where Robbie played in Armin van Buuren’s sold out Hordern Arena. Robbie also makes regular appearances at Spice, Shrug, Chinese Laundry, Deep As Funk and Colour events. Add to this a forthcoming solo EP and remix work with fellow Sydney DJ Tim Culbert (with who he also compiles the highly acclaimed ‘Colour Mix’ series), showcasing the deeper side of house music. ROBBIE CORDUKES – One of Sydney’s rising talents, Robbie is a great young deep / tech house DJ hailing from the Northen Beaches. To date he has played gigs at; home nightclub, sweetchilli, in2deep at the Bunker, Suspect at Henry Afrikas, Rub at The Bourbon/Cross. He is starting learning production work and will be looking to release tracks in 2010. DAVE STUART – Has a beard, Djs a bit, likes deep stuff�
