We are happy to be returning to London with ‘Your Love ‘ @ Corsica Studios on the 15th of November.
We are so happy to have the opportunity to have 2 rooms at our disposal and t be able to host some of the most inspiring DJs and crew.
We are so happy to also be joined by Sound artist & DJ in Room 1 Ain Bailey.

Here is what BBZ had to say about who they are & what they do in their own words;
‘We are an ever-evolving curatorial & creative production collective born, raised and based in South East London with roots in nightlife and clubbing culture.
Prioritising the experiences of queer womxn, trans folk and non-binary people of colour in all aspects of our work, we provide physical and online platforms for this specific community.
We work to democratise access to public institutions and challenge institutionalised behaviours to diversify.
We explore experiential practices with interactive installations, sound, poetry, archive, celebratory communion, photography, group shows, film and more.
Organised by a stand out collective of seven queer black artists and headed by co-founders Tia Simon-Campbell and Naeem Davis. ‘

Central to Your love is bringing people together from all walks of life with love and respect . as such we expect all those who are in attendance to adhere to that simple philosophy.

~Ain Bailey~
Ain Bailey is a sound artist and DJ. Her practice involves an exploration of sonic autobiographies, architectural acoustics, and collaborations with performance and visual artists. Bailey facilitates workshops considering the role of sound in the formation of identity; has performed at Guest, Ghost, Host: Machine!, the 2017 Serpentine Marathon and held a residency at the ICA, London. In 2019 she was part of the group shows ‘The Range’ at Eastside Projects, Birmingham; ‘RE:Respite’ at Transmission Gallery, Glasgow, Scotland, and had a solo show at Cubitt Gallery, London: ‘And We’ll Always Be A Disco In The Glow Of Love. In summer 2019, Bailey was commissioned by the festivals Supernormal and Jupiter to create and perform a new work, entitled ‘Super JR’. Currently, following a commission by Serpentine Projects, she is conducting sound workshops with LGBTI+ refugees and asylum seekers.
Bailey co-founded the club night ‘Precious Brown’ with DJ Marilyn at the Candy Bar in London in the late 90s. Bailey has also worked with the collective Bitches Brew and played festivals such as V Festival. Other club nights include Queer Nation; a Bootylicious residency; Sunday Happy Day, promoted by Yvonne Taylor, was a long-standing 8-year residency. Her musical flavour ranges from latin/jazz and African sounds through disco/soulful and minimal tech house and everything in between. Bailey has also taught DJ workshops at Lambeth Women’s Project and for Fringe! Queer Film Festival.
~Lakuti~
South African transplant who cut her teeth in london for 15 yrs before moving to berlin 7 yr s ago . Dj , Event curator , Uzuri Recordings and Uzuri Bookings founder .
the last 3 yrs have seen Lakuti’s djaying coming of age with increased travel in most corners of the world now and with 2019 set to be her best year yet .
~Tama Sumo~
Tama Sumo needs no introduction to most clubbers having earned her stripes as an international dj , over the years .
Her dj career began in Berlin in 1993 and she quickly gained fans and supporters and she went on to play some of the most important venues in the city then , such as E werk , Cafe Moskau , Cafe Drama , leading to her holding a residency at Tresor and playing regularly at Ostgut ( The predecessor club to Berghain ) and then becoming one of the Berghain/Panorama Bar residency from the clubs inception and she still holds that residency today. She has gone on to travel the world with her craft.
~Shy One~
Mali Larrington-Nelson AKA Shy One lives and breathes the eclecticism and diversity of her DJ sets and productions. Having started off DJing on pirate radio at 13 years old, Shy One has been exposed to and influenced by the full spectrum of sounds her hometown of London has birthed and nurtured over the years. As with many teenage Londoners at the time, grime and the wider family of indigenous London club music was what gave Shy One the passion to pursue music as more than a pastime. Obsessively collecting white labels by some of her local production heroes
quickly developed into obsessively making beats in Fruity Loops for a plethora of different crews and MCs bubbling up in Harrow, the North West London borough she grew up in. Undeterred by those in the scene who called her beats “weird” or “different”, Shy One ploughed on carving out her own sound which eventually caught the ear of Scratcha DVA, who went on to release the Decaffeinated Love EP and her debut LP, Bedknobs and Boomkicks, on his now renowned DVA Music imprint.
Since her initial releases with Scratcha, Shy One has continued to grow as an artist and diversify further into a somewhat undefinable sound that’s origins are undoubtedly London but take in a huge variety of musical cultures, from hip-hop and jazz to house music and West London’s own brokenbeat movement – all of which are well represented on her various radio shows across
stations like Balamii, NTS and Rinse FM. As well as DJing and releasing music more recently on labels like Diskotopia and Through My Speakers, Shy One is also a resident DJ and part of London’s BBZ and Touching Bass collectives - two forward thinking groups of artists, DJs, and activists that strive to create a space for London’s marginalised LGBTQI+ and POC communities respectively through art, music and culture.
Recently Shy One has branched out even further to collaborate with artist Victoria Sin on A View From Elsewhere, a multimedia fantasy on the experience of desire, shame and identification of the material queer body, culminating in a sold out performance at London’s Café Oto. Both artists have now teamed up again for Victoria Sin’s most recent project, The Sky Is An Image, An Image Is A
Net, which is due to be performed as part of The Serpentine Pavilion’s Park Nights series in July 2018.
With a more hectic schedule than ever and a variety of exciting new music lined up for release, Shy One’s trajectory looks set to steepen and accelerate further, with a growing audience recognizing her as one of the most talented and unique DJs and producers in the capital at the moment.
~Sippin’ T~
As co-founder of the infamous club night and curatorial collective BBZ, Sippin’ T champions the queer POC community in all aspects of their work. Hailing from South East London, their sound encapsulates all facets of black house music, from its origins to its new evolutions. Whilst only at the beginning of their DJ career, their live highlights boast supporting Honey Dijon, Sampha, Janelle Monae and Mike Q, as well as sets at Glastonbury, Lovebox, AFROPUNK NYC, London and Johannesburg, and two Boiler Room shows.
~AQWEA~
AQWEA is a dj , producer and all-round selector of vibes .She began sharing her love of music with a range of genres, tempos and rhythms in 2014. Exploring her appreciation for the aesthetics found in 90's club music, Vogue soundtracks and newer forms of instrumental genres, AQWEA co-founded a series of club nights in 2014 with
AERIAL. The lineups displayed a range of DJs from Josey Rebelle to Scratcha DVA and saw collaborations with global affiliates via a compilation, attracting rave reviews from Fact magazine and Mixmag. The release featured her own productions which have also gained the support of the UK’s top selectors who have featured her music in sets for Rinse FM and The Fader.
An advocate of music in all forms, AQWEA, was invited to collaborate with the ICA on their annual gala and exhibition ‘Lives on Wire’. Creating the show’s entire soundtrack from field recordings and her own productions, she was also the guest DJ for the season’s opening. Following this, she provided musical support for art institutions, including the Tate Modern and Nottingham’s Contemporary Gallery. AQWEA’s live sets are where she most enjoys presenting a range of music and raw moods. Expect nods to her native roots, warm blends of garage, house, jungle, R’n’B and everything in between.
