Since 2006 Aus Music had explored the more leftfield and experimental side of house, techno, dub and downtempo. The British label founded by Will Saul has seen releases from Bicep, Midland, Leon Vynehall, Deetron, Dusky and countless other artists pushing the boundaries of electronic music. Will Saul has been at the cutting edge of electronic music for nearly 20 years. As well as being the man behind Aus Music he is also the head of A&R at !K7 where he curates the DJ Kicks series. Will Saul is hosting a label night at Good Room where he will be joined by Juan MacLean and Nathan Micay (formerly Bwana) behind the decks.
Juan MacLean has weathered electroclash, disco-punk, electro-disco, techno, house, deep house, and whatever we can call the sound of today. They never feel totally in step with the moment, but somehow always feel right and necessary. Put differently: there's always something exciting to say about the music, regardless of the release date. With three albums for DFA Records under his belt, he's become a staple in the dance music scene and a favorite here at Good Room.
Canadian-born, Berlin-based producer Bwana has been universally praised for his tracks for labels like Aus Music and Lucky Me Records. And his DJ sets have only added fuel to the fire. With a bag of vinyl in tow, Bwana’s ability to mix a wide selection of genres has allowed himself to a carve a place where he can just as easily fit onto a bill with fellow Aus artists Midland and Will Saul as he can with house or techno staples like Jennifer Cardini and Scuba.
