Every so often, we’ll hear a dj so amazing that we drop everything and get to work on bringing them to Portland. So it went with Conor, after seeing his sunrise set at Dusk Campout this past May. It was easily one of the best sets we’ve heard in years, stitching together some absolutely ridiculous disco edits and other crazy shit we’ve never heard, all while pulling off flawless, minutes-long transitions with two turntables precariously balanced on pillows.
I’m getting goosebumps just thinking back to it.
Conor cuts a mysterious figure in the west coast scene, and is a true master of the craft who eschews social media and the limelight in favor of letting his sets speak for themselves. His 20,000 plus record collection is the stuff of west coast legend, and it’s rumored that he’s never even used a CDJ.
Don’t expect to find any sets or mixes from Conor online, the only way to hear him is in person. And once you do hear him, you’re going to be fiending for more.
Get ready. This is going to be a special one!
