Album Release Show for PICK A PIPER Album 'SIGHT' & LOOPSY DAZY Album 'ESTUARY' Un Spectacle de Lancement pour l'album 'SIGHT' de PICK a PIPER & l'album "ESTUARY' de LOOPSY DAZY --- Pick A Piper (Toronto) is a collaborative live music project produced by Brad Weber with longtime pals Angus Fraser & Dan Roberts and many guest vocalists that combines polyrhythmic percussion, atmospheric sound design, loopy melodies, club-informed structures filled with feels with a focus on electronics and production technique to create a sound poised between the organic and the synthetic. Both as Pick A Piper and in his role as Caribou's drummer, Brad Weber has toured the world and recently retuned from a solo European tour and his first appearance at MUTEK Montréal. https://soundcloud.com/pickapiper --- Loopsy Dazy (Montreal/Toronto) is a live-looping acoustic-electronic band consisting of Mikey Dorje on acoustic guitar, synths, live electronic beats, and live effects, Eleanor Edgar on violin and live effects and Brad Weber on drums and synth and Adam Jenkins on bass. Loopsy Dazy delights audiences and rocks dance floors with their unique symphony of sound that combines elements of both electronic and acoustic music. Fall 2019 will see the release of Loopsy Dazy's debut album. The band's previous studio work includes a remix of a song by Austra for a video that was played at the 2014 Juno Awards, an official remix of electronic music pioneer BT (Brian Transeau), and other singles and collaborations. https://soundcloud.com/loopsydazy --- Quan (Montreal/Vietnam) Quan’s expertise designing and operating modular synthesizers delivers a musical palette that jumps between uplifting experimental soundscapes, minimal techno, and deep house. A prominent figure in the development of Vietnam’s experimental electronic music scene, the spontaneous revisions to his live, ever-evolving improvised performances provide an endlessly varied alternative to traditional loop-structured song formats. 2019 saw Quan's debut at MUTEK Montréal with a performance with his self-created, patented Quanalog Instruments modular setup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRDxi-n4at0 --- Nick Schofield (Montreal) continues the ambient tradition pioneered by Hiroshi Yoshimura and Brian Eno, allowing for the soothing effects to wash over us all with his most recent project Water Sine. Comprised of minimal instrumentation and field-recordings, his music is a soundtrack for sleep; an antidote to insomnia. Softness and simplicity. A sound that beckons for tranquility and release. https://nickschofield.bandcamp.com --- Portes / Doors - 20:30 Spectacle / Show - 21:00 $10 (en avance / in advance) $12 (à la porte / at the door)
