Joining forces during ADE ’19, Demuir and Junior Sanchez present UNITY. With their respective labels, Purveyor Underground and Brobot Records, the pair believe we are in a time where underground electronic music knows no boundaries, but also in a place where it is crucial that its core values are supported by those at its very centre.
Authenticity, respect, transparency and love have formed the foundation for the scene to grow and flourish, allowing groups to come together, share views and collaborate. UNITY’s ADE event at the W Hotel Amsterdam has been compiled with a group of carefully selected curators, giving them a chance to showcase their knowledge, talent and passion; uniting labels, artists and brands to represent their sound and culture.
As label bosses, Demuir and Junior Sanchez have worked to collaborate on this ADE event that celebrates the best things about the industry, presenting an event packed with worlds most renowned DJs & producers on offer across a full day of programming at the W Hotel. Demuir’s musical output has led him to stand out amongst his peers and be championed by Dance music’s elite artists. Cementing this with a string of releases on high-profile label such as Hot Creations, Desolat and Pets Recordings in 2019 alongside an outstanding output of music via Purveyor Underground, the Toronto based artist is showing no signs of slowing down and brings his uncompromising Jackin’ House style to the Dutch capital.
Junior Sanchez offers an unrelenting attitude and work ethic towards the industry. Born and raised in New Jersey, developing and honing his craft in some of the hottest clubs in NYC he has become one of the most in-demand DJ’s and producers in the industry. His cutting-edge style of production has impacted the environment around him, attracting attention and respect from artists such as Madonna, Gorillaz and Katy Perry. With a collection of remixes to add to these for the likes of Daft Punk, Jamiroquai, Moby and Chvrches, he comes to ADE with his label Brobot Records to Unite and combine alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.
Adding to the line-up, Grammy award nominated DJ and producer Todd Terry. Having been engulfed in dance music since his early days growing up in Brooklyn, NYC, Todd is one of the most celebrated figures in dance music. With almost two decades of dancefloor domination under his belt, the quality of his productions goes from strength to strength. He now brings the Church of Dance Music to ADE for UNITY. Cassy’s lifelong love affair with music makes her one of the most respected selectors of her generation. A dynamic and passionate DJ with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the electronic music history and a record back to match it, she can dig deep in any given situation. With previous residencies at Panorama Bar, Trouw, DC-10 and Rex Club, Cassy promises good vibes, positivity and a contagious energy on the dancefloor at UNITY.
Puerto Rican born, Chicago raised, DJ Sneak is the founder of the I’m A House Gangster label, events and lifestyle brand. Sneak has created a blueprint for artists to follow, inspiring numerous artists such as Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx, with his disco filtered house sound. e’s provided numerous worldwide club hits including, ‘You Can’t Hide From Your Bud’ and ‘Fix My Sink’, both hitting the top 20 in the UK Charts. Another Chicago legend and dance music icon, Gene Farris. Having spiritedly contributed to evolving House & Techno around the globe. He gained recognition during the golden era of the 90’s, playing warehouse parties throughout Chicago and eventually across the world. Taking his knowledge and prowess over the last three decades, Gene Farris holds one of the night time slots at UNITY.
Bülent Gürler AKA Butch, as he’s better known to his many fans, has been one of House & Techno’s permanent fixtures for the past 15 years. His productions on the likes of Cocoon and Desolat are still in the bags of the biggest DJ’s, alongside his experimental project ButRic with Ricardo Villalobos that has earned him a cult following over the years. Mixing fluidly between genres and music landscapes with ease, Butch looks to fuse the grey-are between music for the mind and body. Hiroko Yamamura is a further addition to the line-up that embraces the innovative attitude of her contemporaries on the line up, with Technology and Exploration at the roots of her music. Her sound is a homage to every circuit, resistor, patch cord and application the brings voice and inspiration to her work.
Having started releasing music in 2011, Sidney Charles has made an impressive start to his career with the producer collecting international recognition over the last few years. Releasing on Hot Creations, SCI+TEC, 8bit and Truesoul as well as remixes for Moby and Basement Jaxx, it’s clear to see how Sidney Charles is one of the biggest names in the Underground and compliments the line-up perfectly and will be playing B2B alongside Demuir at the W Hotel. Also, on the line up are DJ and producers Blaqwell, 3d3ks, Giancarlo and White Label Will.
UNITY will take place at the W Hotel, Amsterdam on the 16th October.
