As Glaswegian clubbing institution Animal Farm reaches it’s 15th year, they continue to push the boundaries of Techno in their home city. Whilst always looking to the past for inspiration, they continue to have one foot forward, seeking new and exciting acts to bring to the forever intense Glasgow crowd. With the 15th birthday, the line up defines this ethos perfectly. Anthony Child aka Surgeon, one of the most enduring figures in Techno makes his debut appearance at Animal Farm. Not much needs said about this particular character apart from his unique brand of techno has been one of the most influential in the growth of Animal Farm itself, so it was only natural for him to appear at this momentous occasion.
Debuting in Scotland for the first time is Berlin based live act Peryl. Described as a live act like no other, his intense, dark, rough and driving sound can be found on such labels as Lebendig, Antagonist Field & S.L.A.M. Growing up in a punk environment, the young Peryl quickly moved his musical focus into a mixture of EBM, Industrial & Techno - finding joy in the perfect mix between the roughness of Punk & Techno. Peryl’s raw and abrasive sound which is certainly indicative of today’s modernist Techno will fit perfectly into Animal Farm’s 15th Birthday event.
No Animal Farm event would be complete without it’s resident at the helm. Founding member Quail will be starting off yet another special AF event taking place over the festive period, now an annual tradition in Glasgow’s clubbing calendar. Not only does this event mark the 15th year of Animal Farm but marks the outfit’s 10th year as resident of the world famous Jamaica Street basement, Sub Club - no mean feat in itself.
