Next up at Club Mick's, we're being rather bold, so forgive us for a moment whilst we explain ourselves. We've got one of our favourite DJ and production duos to come and play all night long for us, and we're inviting you to come along, for free. Yes, free tickets. If you arrive on the night after 11pm you'll have to pay £5 on the door - but you can claim a free ticket now via Resident Advisor. This is just as a one off as we celebrate the Crate Winter Festival taking place at Mick's Garage on Saturday 30th November.
Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold may not be a name that you'll see on too many posters, but for us, the music comes first and we're doing this because we want to say that this, this here, this is amazing stuff. We want more people to experience it.
Sometimes at Club Mick's we'll book really well known artists, sometimes we won't, what matters is the experience and the quality that they can bring to our dancefloor. We're trying to create something special here, something based on the things that really matter and we're trying to be true to ourselves. If you trust us as a curator of music, then you should do some listening and come and check these guys out.
A little more about our DJs. Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold are Gerry Rooney and Joel Martin. You may know Gerry as one of the finest disco editors of the last two decades as one half of Black Cock, alongside DJ Harvey. Joel on the other hand is a DJ with an encyclopaedic knowledge, a master of obscure treats in techno, house, Afro-rock and other cosmic goodness. He is also one half of Quiet Village, alongside Matthew Edwards a.k.a. Radio Slave. They are literally two of the finest music men walking on this earth, and we can't wait to hear them.
