We are thrilled to welcome Temple Rat, the Chinese born and raised is known for her underground techno sound in contrast to her Violin performance. Huy Truong and Teruu will be supporting her on this night.
TEMPLE RAT (Kagerou, G42 / CN)
Mei grew up near the vibrant megacity Chengdu in the lush Western China Sichuan Basin.
At the age of 9 she began to learn the traditional Chinese Erhu, a truly mysterious folk instrument, two-stringed, played with a bow and made from carved wood and snake skin, sometimes known in the Western world as the Chinese violin or the Chinese two-stringed fiddle. Inspired by her passion for the electronic music of Chengdu’s hyped underground clubs, May started to explore a combination of traditional Chinese folk music with minimalistic techno tunes.
“I usually start my sets by playing the ErHu alone, to create a sense of space, mystery and surprise among my audience. Then, gradually, I add electronic or industrial sounds and instruments to fill the space with ever more sensations, slowly bringing my audience on an emotional journey, producing a different kind of atmosphere.”MEI constantly improved her skills to express a unique blend of live ErHu performances with 4x4 electronic beats, eventually starting to perform as Temple Rat from 2015 on. Her music is influenced by sparks of both, the natural and religious environment she grew up in, further inspired by ancient oriental rhythms as well as by her favorite 90’s ACID elements.
So far her musical career has brought her to cities all over China such as Shanghai,Beijing, Chengdu, Suzhou, Yunnan and festivals all over Europe like the Château Perché Festival (France), the Summer Story Festival (Spain) and the ADE Festival (Netherlands).YinYang Great Wall Festival,Boiler Room ShangHai 2019.

HUY TRUONG (Heart Beat, Pink Room Rec / VN)
Discovered and started playing DJs at the age of 17 with a variety of electronic music genres. In 2017, Truong decided to join HRBR and had the opportunity to get more exposure to the origins of House music, which has shaped his own sound in his mixsets in the club .
Besides HRBR, he also became a resident DJ of Heart Beat with a completely different color of sounds from HRBR - Dark and Hypnotic Techno. As the youngest brother of HRBR & Heart Beat, Huy Truong promises to keep boiling the dancefloor with his ability to perfectly blend different sounds. In 2018, Truong started to run Pink Room Records along with Chris Wolter with the objective of bringing Techno production of Vietnam worldwide.
Truong started a new journey of sound in 2019 as he has joined the label Holy Grail Music and guarantee he would put more of his production out in the near future.
TERUU (WAM / JP)
Originally Teruu played for 10 years as a drummer in a Tokyo based Hardcore Punk band.
He was taken over by the charm of dance music in 20xx and started DJing since 2015. His energetic, disco sets are fuelled by house, afro and other obscurities.
He was a resident at the infamous Savage in Hanoi before he moved to Saigon, where he now also is the booking manager of DJ bar WAM.
In recent years Teruu played festivals in the region such as: Studio Adventure(Hanoi), Vibe Nation Festival(Saigon) and he played and curated Zipang festival(Hoian/Japan).
