  • Billy Cobham is one of the most accomplished and influential drummers of all time and although he rose to prominence in the 70s he still remains unchallenged in his ability to seamlessly blend explosive rock power and jazz finesse with technical precision. The Panama-born drummer’s stunning dexterity earned him a coveted spot playing with Miles Davis on both Bitches Brew and A Tribute to Jack Johnson where his interplay with McLaughlin set the tone for what the pair would accomplish together in the Mahavishnu Orchestra. While Phil Collin’s refers to Cobham’s drumming as some of the finest he’s ever heard, Prince used to regularly play a cover Cobham’s Stratus in his world tours. Cobham is so widely appreciated that he’s not only been welcomed onstage by The Grateful Dead but he's also been sampled by the likes of Massive Attack, Gangstarr and DJ Shadow for his unique rhythm structures. With a zest for performing live undiminished by his years of playing, it’s our pleasure to welcome Billy back for two spellbinding performances on the 27th and 28th of November. Opening the show on both nights will be Brighton-based jazz fusion group Howes3.
