We move to the depths of Wire for our second event of the term, where the notoriously mysterious house and techno DJ/producer Marquis Hawkes joins the Extended: team for what is set to be a huge foot-stomping night.
MARQUIS HAWKES
London-born DJ and producer Mark Hawkins has crafted his way to the top via a somewhat alternative route to your everyday DJ. Living as a New-Age traveler, Mark would spend his every last penny on records and tracks while sleeping on sofas and eating discarded supermarket food. He started producing his own music in 1997 and after being given the chance to play at a host of venues around the world, Mark settled for life in Berlin.
When the label Dixon Avenue Basement Jams came knocking a few years back, Mark adopted his name and style, releasing under the name of Marquis Hawkes. He soon became the in-demand house and techno DJ of the moment, and in recent years has released some absolute monsters such as 'The Basement is Burning' and 'We Should Be Free'.
Marquis conceals his face from press shots, wanting people to judge the music for what it is rather than where it came from. He fits the bill perfectly for an unmissable set in Leeds most mysterious dungeon.

Local lad Xen Watts is no stranger to the Leeds nightlife scene, having regular weekly sets in a host of venues across the city for multiple different event nights.
Xen has taken off over the last year, having played supporting sets for SOPHIE, Secondcity, Marco Strous, Leftwing : Kody and techno legend Skream.
Renowned for his slick mixing and master track selection behind the decks, Xennex will be sure to warm things up just right before Marquis takes over.
