Lauren Hansom launches Mutual Attraction, a new London residency with Five Miles and Stamp The Wax where she picks some of her favourite DJs and musicians for a night of total rhythm inside one of the best sound systems in the capital.
For the first outing she invites fellow Aussie Tornado Wallace. His superlative 2017 debut album on Running Back, and accompanying dancefloor-focussed records with Beats In Space, Animals Dancing, ESP Institute and Second Circle, all share a certain penchant for organic-sounding electronic textures. Something that crosses over to his DJing and very much a quality shared by Lauren.
Since Lauren delivered one our all time fave mixes in our Diggers Directory series back in 2018, we’ve been waiting for the right time to work on something with her. Since then she’s curated a tape for the esteemed Altered Soul Experiment series, become a regular on Red Light Radio, taken part in RA’s brilliant corners series and played one of our standout sets at Kala 2019. It feels like the perfect time for an extended series in our hometown; something that gives her the reigns to share her love for live and DJd music. We can’t wait to hear what she comes up with.
