CABAL ANNOUNCEMENT #2
As you may know we're constantly working hard to innovate and push Cabal to new levels. This comes together in the form of bigger/better production at events, fresh concepts like the Cabal Social Club & large scale events like Cabal in the Courtyard [STAY TUNED]. However, for a long time now we've being working on bringing our Cabal events and their atmosphere to new places. So after a period of brainstorming we've decided to make Galway our home away from home and announce our first event of many there, Cabal G001.
Once we had chosen to come to Galway, we spent the best part of a year scouting various venues to call our own, so with that in mind we're extremely excited to announce Cabal G001 will take place in none other than the Róisín Dubh. Aside from being one of the countries best music venues and hosting a wealth of international acts covering everything from Mr. Scruff to The xx, the Roisín have always supported independent music and that is a philosophy that falls very much in line with our own, so as far as we're concerned it's a match made in heaven and we can't wait to get started there on Wednesday, September 11th.
On Wednesday [11.09.2019], for the first ever Cabal Party in Galway we're taking over the entire Roisín Dubh and are going to be joined by Marion Hawkes and Tara Stewart, with our residents making up the rest of the lineup.
Marion Hawkes has over two decades of collecting and obsessing over music under her belt and her dj sets are known for their genre and era spanning eclecticism, keeping the dance floor on its toes with ever changing rhythms and energy. Having earned here stripes warming up for DJs on the Belfast circuit, Marion is now a headliner in her own right with a distinctive presence and command of the stage. Co-founder of the female-focused duo GIRL & burgeoning queer disco Ponyhawke, she is one of the hardest working DJs in the scene. This past year has seen Marion's acclaim stretch beyond the island of Ireland, with shows in Glasgow's renowned Sub Club and Manchester's Stage & Radio, along with making her Boiler Room debut at AVA Festival back in June. We're very excited for Marion to take the reigns downstairs in the Róisín for our first venture in new territory.
Upstairs in the Róisín we are joined by Tara Stewart. The Australian who now calls Dublin her home has been one of the biggest movers and shakers of the Irish music scene pretty much since moving to the country seven years ago. 2019 has been a pretty massive year for Tara with numerous club & festival appearances including an upcoming slot at Electric Picnic's Casa Bacardi. She has recently been given her own slot on RTÉ 2fm hosting the New Music Show every weekday from 7-10pm, we're looking forward to the blend of hip-hop and RnB that Tara has in store for us.
