After a short break under_score are back with fresh new South London talent Wbeeza and a fresh new residency at Day + Night. Now in our 5th year of bringing the best in house, techno and the all important "other" to Bristol (previous guests: Marcel Dettmann, 2562 + many more); in keeping with the pioneering musical approach of under_score we are proud to present a special live set from rising star Wbeeza.
Wbeeza (pronounced double-u-beeza) is 23 year old Warren Brown from Bermondsey, South London. His tender age belies the fact that he's fully versed in the disciplines and techniques of classic house music, with more than a little bit of deep Detroit and Theo Parrish influence permeating his productions.
Wbeeza's unique sound takes in the history and lineage of 20 years of house music and gives it a true 2k10 London twist. His productions have a perfect balance of jacking basement vibes with swinging jazz grooves and tough acid tinges. Wbeeza's killer live set is particularly refined, balancing the power of motorized techno with organic rolling polyrhythms, bringing some much-needed freshness to the capital's dance music scene.
Signed to Guy McCreery's Third Ear Recordings, which has long been forging the link between London and Detroit through their ongoing and highly regarded Detroit Beatdown series, Wbeeza has found the perfect home for his transatlantic sound. Garnering international acclaim, including support from Laurent Garnier, Sebo K (Mobilee), Trus'me (Prime Numbers) and Jus' Ed (Underground Quality), Wbeeza's productions have been among 2009's most essential.
In support we have a selection of Bristol's finest djs; Placid (under_score) and special guests Jay-L & Andy Mac (Falling Up) playing the hottest sounds around.
