The bushfires we are currently we are witnessing have to be viewed as the latest part of the struggle of the First Nations people as well as in the wider context of climate breakdown. No one understands Country or the role of fire in the same way as the First Nations people and the whole world bears the cost of their continued marginalisation.
February 14th will see The Cause host Rave for Relief - a bushfire fundraiser rave in collaboration with friends of dancefloor fundraisers Dance for Refuge - including promoters InnerSoul Music, MC Visionobi, and DIY fundraising platform Voices.
Rallying a host of high-calibre secret special guests from across the Drum and Bass and UKG spectrum, the 3-room affair will run from 11pm-5am.
Joining them will be globe-trotting DnB selectors Gerra and Stone (Shogun Audio / Ram Records / Dispatch), New Zealand’s golden girl Emma G, Kolectiv (with tenures at Dispatch, Fokuz & more) and rising star DJ Sweetpea. Hosting will be provided by Visionobi, MC:ID, Linguistics, J:S and Voice, with DJ support from Betty Lush, Al Menos, SirReal, IBM and Nicky Soula across both rooms.
Netil Radio and Threads regular Fae will head up the Voices UKG room alongside Cherry B of Childsplay fame, with support provided by Voices residents natureboi, Anco, azerbaijack, Melv and other special guests tbc.
Proceeds will be split between Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities and WIRES Wildlife Rescue Organisation.
