Hunee
House producer and vinyl junkie Hunee (Hun Choi) cultivates deep, sunny grooves with a clear reverence for Chicago and Detroit house as well as disco, jazz, and dub influences.
As likely to draw for a classic house record as he is a disco curveball, a boogie delight or mixing an African bomb into a techno record, each selection he makes is a thing of true passion – you can see it not only in his eyes, but so too in the eyes of those dancing along.
Reporting that he feels blessed every time he gets to play music for people, Hunee’s sole goal is to enrich the lives of listeners as much as possible. His own productions have always managed to do that, too. So far they have proven to be hugely considered and cultured things that have arrived on labels like Rush Hour, Dekmantal and W.T. Each one is different, but each one has a certain kinked funk that puts them up there with the best of them.
RAMZi
Phoebé Guillemot’s parallel autonomous sci-fi RAMZi world is at once utopian and dystopian in the most wondrous, wide and red-eyed way, and these digital vine cutting expeditions span a vast and varied section of her own CGI’ed imaginary world of disorientating, bouncy hybrid genre experiments, heavily filtered samples, inverted dancehall rhythms, shredded jungle, distroid-vibed atmospheres and super weird, melodic repetitions.
Releasing notable audio excursions on Total Stasis, Mood Hut, and 1080p, along with curating her own imprint Pygmy Animals, RAMZi is one of the rare few artists to genuinely push the frontiers and widen the boundaries in both composition and arrangement.
