Krake Festival is a festival for challenging electronic music with a special focus on artists, who break new ground and illuminate the thresholds between different areas of club culture. On the occasion of our 10th birthday, we are celebrating not only in Berlin, but also in London, where we will be guests in October. In March we are taking over Institut für Zukunft in Leipzig with a rich program in order to overcome all genre boundaries and kick-start a full-on party.
The mood for the evening is set with a midnight concert by the founding member of Einstürzende Neubauten FM Einheit performing with the guitarist Caspar Brötzmann. These two exceptional musicians reject traditional musical guidelines and concentrate entirely on the exploration of sound.
Dot Product from Bristol deliver bass heavy music between Dubstep and Drone and present their collaboration with the visual artist Geso. Arad combines abstract, futuristic beats with pop in his live act, M-F-X improvises in real time, brings noise and nuances to the foreground, while Ick Mach Welle comprises five people jamming live.
Our headliner Helena Hauff and all the other DJs are in no way inferior to the live acts, neither in terms of musical diversity nor in terms of attitude. Electro, acid, jungle, ghetto, techno - anything is possible, nothing is a must: showing the finger towards the fully commercialised electronic dance music industry.

Das Krake Festival ist ein Festival für mutige elektronische Musik mit einem besonderen Fokus auf Künstlern, die neue Wege gehen und die Grenzbereiche der Clubkultur ausleuchten. Anlässlich unseres 10. Geburtstags feiern wir dieses Jahr nicht nur in Berlin, sondern auch im FOLD in London, wo wir im Oktober zu Gast sein werden, und im Institut für Zukunft in Leipzig, wo wir mit fettem Programm angereist kommen, um alle Genre-Grenzen hinter uns zu lassen und eine dicke Party zu feiern.
Die Grundstimmung für den Abend setzen wir mit einem Mitternachtskonzert des Einstürzende Neubauten- Gründungsmitglieds FM Einheit mit dem Gitarristen Caspar Brötzmann. Die beiden Ausnahmemusiker verwerfen althergebrachte musikalische Vorgaben und konzentrieren sich ganz auf die Erforschung von Klang. Dot Product stammen aus Bristol. Sie liefern bassschwere Musik zwischen Dubstep und Drone und präsentieren hier ihre Kollaboration mit dem Visual Artist Geso. Arad verbindet bei seinen Live-Act abstrakte, futuristische Beats mit Pop, M-F-X improvisiert in Echtzeit, holt Störgeräusche und Zwischentöne in den Vordergrund und bei Ick Mach Welle jammen 5 Leute live.
Unser Headliner Helena Hauff und alle anderen DJs, die wir am Start haben, stehen den live acts in nichts nach,
weder was musikalische Diversität angeht noch was Attitude angeht. Electro, Acid, Jungle, Ghetto, Techno - alles
geht, nichts muss: ein dicker durchgestreckter Mittelfinger in Richtung durchkommerzialisierte Dance-Industrie.
