- Boomtown Fair is one of the UK’s largest independent music and arts festivals. The 66,000 capacity, five day experience combines an incredible and diverse lineup of international superstars right through to grassroots talent with groundbreaking theatre. Set in a fictitious city that is made up of 12 distinctly themed districts, the 27 iconic main stages and intimate micro venues host a lineup that feature over 1,000 artists including over 80 musical genres. The Chapter 12 programme sees revolutionary, influential, pioneering and genre defying artists, DJs and labels take to the stages, including the likes of Wu-Tang Clan, Underworld, Kano, Damian ‘JR Gong’ Marley, The Libertines, Mura Masa, Kelis, as well as Pendulum Trinity, Squarepusher, Orbital, Kool & The Gang, De La Soul and many more. A theatrically-led experience like no other, Boomtown is also underpinned by a continually evolving storyline. Exploding on to the Chapter 12 set is the UKs biggest interactive show to date; State of Emergency. This high energy, theatrical spectacular of circus and performance takes place across three stages throughout the duration of the festival telling the story and incorporating modern-day circus and mind-bending technologies. Each interactive district is brought to life by hundreds of actors and the public are encouraged to take part in the interactive game, The Maze, to become part of the story themselves.
