Saturday May 2nd marks a party that's become synonymous with the welcome changing of the seasons - the Secretsundaze Day & Night Double Venue Opening Party, happening for the very first time at The Pickle Factory as well as across Oval Space's main dancefloor and sun-kissed terraces. For the occasion, we present one of our broadest line-ups in recent times, mixing our signature house sound with soulful styles and shades from across the electronic music spectrum.
Legendary Glaswegian DJ duo Optimo make a Secretsundaze debut, a collectors item for someone as long in the game as J.D. Twitch and J.G. Wilkes. Seasoned selectors and consummate rule breakers, their freewheeling style is paired with dance music chameleon Roman Flügel. Who better embodies the German Electronic Music Scene over the past 30 years than Roman, a true master of both production and DJing.
Peerless Swiss selector Sassy J, whose recent Rush Hour comp ‘Patchwork’ has received rave reviews (including from us!), joins James and Giles behind the booth on the main Oval Space floor, where we’ll also host sets from two rising Australian DJ’s who’ve had our heads on a swivel of late, Lauren Hansom and Adi Toohey. Expect house music and beyond as all three also make Secretsundaze debuts.
This is the first time our Opening Party also involves The Pickle Factory, and we’re taking the opportunity to present a darker contrast to the main space. Mysterious Dekmantel affiliate and Nowadays NYC resident DJ Python, whose impeccable Dulce Compañia LP still receives heavy rotation, is joined by Trilogy Tapes and London’s own sub-bass wizard Parris, hotly-tipped Lisbon native and Secretsundaze label-mate Silvestre and a Very Special Guest who we’ll announce at the end of March. For now, all we’ll say is to expect plenty of lightning-paced breaks.
Finally, on the terrace we welcome two London DJ duos who’re part of the Secretsundaze extended fam - Heels & Souls and Good Block. You’ll likely know the latter through their essential Four Corners 12” from last year, whilst H&S run London’s finest charity party, and are a dab hand behind the decks to boot.
Our Summer Opening always sells-out, and we’re expecting heightened interest levels now that Pickle is added to the equation, so don’t sleep on advanced tickets.

Please note, a £1 'Green Tax' is charged on tickets and guestlist for all Secretsundaze events. This will contribute to Dance 2 Sustain, a green initiative aimed at reducing the amount of waste and carbon emissions across the organisation. This includes banning single-use plastic cups at our events and carbon offsetting all flights that we book. Any remaining money raised via the Green Tax will be donated to our charity partner Possible, a local organisation inspiring climate action.
